Merbau Flooring - Unique Exotic Timber_x000D_

Merbau is a lowland rainforest tree which produces one of the most valuable timbers of South East Asia. The other names it’s known by are Borneo Teak, Ipi, Mirabow and Kajubesi. _x000D_

Merbau has a wide creamy white sapwood and the heartwood is an orange-brown colour when freshly sanded. Colour ages to a darker reddish-brown although the tone can be variable. The timber finishes to a smooth red-brown colour with beautiful grain. _x000D_

Untreated Timber for Custom Finish_x000D_

This Parquet Flooring comes planed, sanded and untreated and allows finishing on site after installation with or without stain colour, and protective coats of hardwax-oil or lacquer in preferred sheen. _x000D_

Designed for Herringbone _x000D_

This product is designed to be laid in herringbone pattern, including variations like double-herringbone, basket weave and others. Some simetric sizes of this type of flooring, allows some blocks to fitted in squares / romb pattern as well. _x000D_

This flooring product is available in Rustic grade - selection of the timber which allows various sizes of knotts and colour variation between the planks. Rustic grade flooring can add more character and natural feeling to environment._x000D_

Installation_x000D_

Tongue-and-groove parquet flooring blocks or overlay blocks require glue-down installation over solid and smooth surface with compatible for wood blocks adhesive. Suitable subfloor substrates will include plywood, chipboard, concrete / contrete boards, screeds and levelling compounds with a strong grab. Any non-timber substrates may require application of liquid damp proofing membrane (DPM).
